National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC)
National Mineral Development Corporation is India’s single largest iron ore producer and exporter. Iron ore from Bailadilla sector mines is considered to be the best for manufacturing Steel as it contains almost 66% super high grade iron content, which is free from Sulphur and other deleterious mineral. the company plans to open new mines in the Bailadilla and new iron ore mine at Kirandul in Dantewada district.

This mine is the first large scale open cast mechanised iron ore mine in India for which DPR ( Detailed Project Report) was prepared by National Mineral Development Corporation..
Bailadilla Deposit 5
It is the southern most deposit in the Western ridge of Bailadilla iron ore range. The deposit has the strike length of 3500 m and width varying between 100 m to 400 m. The Western side of the mine is marked by a cliff, which goes almost vertical down for about 300 m.The South Block has a strike length of 1 km, whereas the central and north west block have a strike length of 1 km and the North block occupying the rest of the area.
Bailadilla Deposit 11/C
It Paul under the mining lease area of deposit 14 non mineralized zone nmz and deposit 11 deposit 14 nmz mining lease, measuring 506. 742 hectare cover major part of deposit 11/C and only 106.412 hectare area of deposit 11/C falls under the mining lease of Deposit 11.
Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP)
Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) is located in Bhilai, Durg district of Chhattisgarh. Bhilai Steel Plant is one of the largest integrated Steel Plant of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). It is the sole producer of rails and heavy Steel plates in the country.
The plant also specialises in the other products such as wire rod and merchant products. it was set up with the help of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) in 1955 and it started with the rupees 1310 million approx. The plant is accredited with ISO 9001:2000, Quality Management System standard and ISO 14001 Certification for its environment management systems. Bhilai Steel Plant( BSP) specialises in heavy rail plates, merchant products and structural products that are used by various other industries of India. Acknowledged by the Government of India as one of the best steel plant, BSP with its 37 million tonnes capacity, stand tall on the industrial contours of Chhattisgarh. Bhilai Steel Plant producers wide range of products. This includes rails, wire rods, play and merchant products. The Chief Executive Officer control operation of the plant ,township and iron ore mining. Besides reducing Greenhouse gas output, BSP is replacing the ozone depleting carbon tetrachloride (CTC), edit by United Nations Development Programme.
South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL)
When Government of India decided to bifurcate a part of coal mines held by western coalfields Limited into new company called South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), along with Central Coalfields Limited, which was bifurcated into Northern Coalfields Limited, for administrative purpose then company was formed in 1985. It is the largest coal producing company in the country. It is one of the eight subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (Government of India undertaking) under the Ministry of Coal.
The company has its head office at Bilaspur. The coal resources of South Eastern Coalfields Limited are spread our two States namely Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
The company is operating 89 mines with 35 mines in Madhya Pradesh and 54 mines in Chhattisgarh besides is coal carbonisation plant namely Dankuni Coal Complex (DCC) at Dankuni in West Bengal. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial National Award for pollution control and energy conservation in the year 2003, excellence award in 2004,2006 and 2008, National safety award from honorable President of India in 2004, 2005 and 2006 was awarded to the company. It was the best public sector undertaking in the country for 1997- 98. South Eastern Coalfields Limited has been awarded Mini Ratna statue by Government of India in 2007. South-Eastern Coalfield Limited produced 124.261 MT of coal during 2013-14.
Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO)
BALCO (Bharat aluminium Company Limited) was established by the Government of India as a public sector undertaking in 1965. BALCO (Bharat aluminium Company Limited) was owned 100% by Government of India. Government of India divested 51 percent equity and management control in favour of Sterlite Industries India Limited in 2001.
Its assets include aluminium and capacitive bauxite mines,captive power plants, refineries and smelters. The company has to working units, situated in Korba, Chhattisgarh and the second in West Bengal act Bidhanbag. High grade bauxite is produced at Kawardha and Mainpat mines in Korba district. Bharat Aluminium Company Limited( BALCO) is executing $ 863 million expansion plan to increase its aluminium production
Capacity from 100000 tonnes per annum 345000 tonnes.The company is planning to set-up a 270 MW electricity generation plant for captive consumption in Korba.
National Thermal Power Corporation Limited ( NTPC)
National Thermal Power Corporation Limited NTPC is engaged in the generation and sale of used power to state electricity boards/ state utilities. It is India’s largest power utility and the sixth largest thermal power generator in the world with an installed capacity of 45,548 MW.
With 18 coal based and seven gas based stations. the company has set target to generate capacity of 128000 MW by the year 2032. the capacity will have min composition of 56% coal, 16% gas, 11% nuclear and 17% renewable energy.
One of the largest establishment of National Thermal Power Corporation NTPC located at Korba in Chhattisgarh of 2100 MW capacity. currently the company is implementing India’s largest coal based electricity plant at Sipat in Chhattisgarh with an installed capacity of over 2980 MW at an estimated cost of over dollar 1.8 billion.
