Govt bans 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, UC Browser, Helo, Shareit


The Major decision the Indian government had taken to ban 59 Chinese apps. As tension along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.

59 Chinese apps which have banned are Tik ToK, UC Browser, Helo, Likee, Shein, WeChat, and Shareit.

The move to ban these Chinese apps move will safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users.

In the notification, the ministry said it has received many complaints from various sources including several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India.
